“Y-You would?” She buries her face against his shoulder, arms wrapped around him. Ronnie’s still too ashamed, still too shy to meet his eyes. Her voice is muffled slightly by his skin. “You’re not… You’re not disappointed? I thought you’d… I don’t know. I didn’t know how you’d react and I didn’t mean for you to find out like that but-” She’s rambling now, words just sort of spilling out.
“I think…if we ever were able to have a child, I don’t think I would want to have one ourselves, I might pass on some undesirable things.” He murmurs, cheeks red with embarrassment. “I don’t know, but that doesn’t mean I don’t want to have a child at all. I’d love that, you’d be such a wonderful mother as well.” He kisses her forehead then.
“I’m so glad you’re not upset,” Ronnie murmurs, glancing up at him finally with wide eyes. She keeps her arms wrapped around him, biting down on her bottom lip. “I’m sorry I didn’t tell you. I’d love… I’d love to have kids someday, and… You’d be a great dad, too.”
David kisses her cheek and then her lips softly. “T-thank you.” He says softly, looking at her with crimson eyes. “And it’s okay, we’ve…never had the chance to talk about something like this before, I’m glad I found out now.”
Ronnie blushes and closes her eyes, taking a deep breath to calm herself down. She’s just realized she’s started shaking very slightly. “I- I’m glad I told you, I… I should’ve told you before.” Why was she so stupid? She mentally smacks herself for it. “Are you sure it’s okay?”
“Of course I am.” He stares at her, pushing her hair back and staring at her with concern. “Veronica, what’s wrong?” The shaking is apparent now and he’s worried about her. “Like I said, we didn’t have the chance to talk about it before, it’s fine.”
“I was just worried I- I’d lose you… A-A lot of people, that’s a deal breaker.” She swallows thickly and closes her eyes tight. “M’fine, I swear.” She’s taking deep breaths now, trying to calm herself down. Of course this would happen…
“…Remember, I was in a relationship with a man before this Ronnie, we needed to adopt as well.” He reminds her softly. “I wouldn’t leave you over something like that, I don’t want to leave you for anything…”
“Thank you…” Ronnie looks at him with eyes glazed over with tears, but she blinks them back easily. “I- I just… worry. A lot.” She moves closer to him, tucking her head under his chin. “Thank you for… for being so understanding.”
